So after High School, I figured I’d head to Williamsport Area Community College (now Penn Tech) had a bunch of buddies going and some that were already there knowing full well we were gunna have some FUN party’s.
Somehow I ended up in the college radio station. Started taking Communications/Business Law Classes. My second year they gave me a show I believe 7 – 10 pm (mistake on their part, good for me as it started my career…I think)…great time to be on-air in college for the party crowd. And so it begins; I was even lucky enough to land a job at a real radio station(and a paycheck) back in the day.
Things were going pretty well until I had this idea of bringing in 2 talented ladies from campus (I think) as FUN guests & a bottle of Jim Beam in case they were nervous. All this for my last college radio show ever. Security comes by as they listened to my show every night and said….”Do you have permission from your instructor to have guests”. I said, “I most certainly do and she said to call her right away.” I took 20 minutes to get in touch with her giving me an extra 20 min. on the air. Her reply, “Get him off the air and out of the studio, he does not have permission.” So busy, I guess I forgot to ask. I never did get to finish that last college radio show but me & the ladies ended up at a party and we did finish the bottle of Jim Beam.
Since then, I have worked at many radio stations & event production companies. I have hosted 1000’s of parties from the beaches out east, on cruise ships to Bermuda and the Caribbean and back home here in the Pocono Mountains.
I have met and continue to meet many great people, and so many of us are so alike; it’s this mentality….Let’s have FUN, if it’s just for a lil while.
YA KNOW IF YA HAVEN’T GROWN UP BY 50, YA DON’T HAVE TO & TO ME SUCCESS IS WHEN YOUR NOT QUITE SURE WHAT YOU DO FOR A LIVING IS WORK – OR – PLAY !
Thanks, from The Jewel & Myself for being the most important element to the “Endless Party Radio Show”
